I never go to the battlegrounds. The people I find there are the same kind of people I find playing CS or any other online shooter -- a big bowl of dicks, spewing words like "fa*g" and trying to corpse hump your body after you die. If I wanted that, I'd play Halo with 12-year-olds.

Same here -- I never log on unless I'm playing with a friend or family member I know in real life. "Soloing" bores me and any guilds I encounter are invariable filled with the "big bowl I dicks" I referenced up above.

In other news, several people lose their job, starve to death, get divorced and lose touch with reality, trying to get to level 80 before anyone else in the Lich King.

man at work we had a flood of people come in the front doors for it and we opened 2 hours early for the buisiness and o man the customer service counter was backed up on the floor wrapped in peices of paper with peoples names that pre orderd it im so glad i work in he precinct i didnt have to deal with any of that

For the record, could I please ask that people be intelligent enough to realise that the few extreme cases picked up by the media in no way represent the general community. As in life, you do get the few who go completely overboard.

I have no problem with people not liking WOW. After all, where would we be as a species without diversity?

I played Wow and... it was so fu*king boring... I have a job in real life and I have ALOT of patience...but when it comes to Wow F*ck that sh*t. I absolutly hate grinding, its not fun. Why do people play this game? The reason cannot be that it is fun because it is not. I've tried many times over the years to enjoy Wow but cant.

In my opinion the people who play it are not GAMERS and should not be refered to as gamers because Wow is not a game its a job. And it is not fun.

I beleave at one point there we're gamers playing wow but then they moved on. Most if not all the people I see who play wow are not gamers, they started playing Wow as there first video game and have never played a real video game.

This would be fun if it wouldnt need a BILION hours of gameplay to play with good players on PvP.
This is a good game but it takes too much of real life...

Well, considering I also play COD4, UT3, Team Fortress 2, C&C 3; what does that make me?

I played wow for a few weeks,i actually got my warrior to lvl 40 in just 20days-20hrs played.Then i stopped playing it cause it is so boring.Then of course there is all the raiding guilds that wont let you join because you don't have the right gear,but you cant get the gear without going raiding.Wow just demands sooo much time.I have switched back to playing fps only again.

At the moment all my mates are playing rf on-line(don't get me started on this pos game) all the time,they usually don't get out of bed till 6pm+ on a night,because they,ve been up all night playing it.

MMo's IMHO are for jobless people who have no life and so use wow or whatever mmo to get one.In theses games they are someone because they have all the uber gear and are high lvl because they've spent weeks playing it 12+ hours a day.

LOL no fanboyism there. I just prefer FPS, and it doesnt comsume my life, I can play 1 map for 20 min and get my fix and I dont have to pay a monthly fee.

Seeing as I only have time to play games maybe 1-2 hrs a week WoW is out of the question, I cancelled and unistalled FF11 because u cant do anything with 1-2 hrs a week.

So its not fanboyism, its personal preference. As far as I know CSS hasnt caused any divorces, deaths from starvation or any other dramatic life impacts as far as I know like WoW has, but I could be wrong also.

Whats not fun for you is fun for others. I play WoW and im in no way addcited to it. In fact, I dropped it for about a month with no "withdraw". I started playing it again cause I got bored.

So saying that when it comes to WoW "f*ck that sh*t", that is purely your opinion of the game and its just that. Your opinion. You dont have to go all out like you did just to say you dont care for the the game.

Just because you think someone plays WoW doesnt give you the right to say they are not gamers. Thats just stupid and ignorant. Last I checked it was still a game.

What you need to do is just grow up and stop bad mouthing people who enjoy a game that you do not.

Then dont go around saying that CSS is better than WoW because that is strictly your opinion. Any one person can get addicted to any game and have it cause marital problems. Just because you havent heard of it happening does not mean that it hasnt happened. So yes, you can be wrong.

The way I see it is that when I pay the $15 a month it is saying that you like the game and you want to continue playing it. And if they want me to continue playing it they better fix whatever is wrong with the game in a timely manner and keep the servers up to date. I see it as maintenance fees.

Mech, an honest question -- how packed is your week that you only have 1-2 hours a week to play games? Do you work seven days a week?

I think you need to relax, I said css>wow, big friggen deal, if someone typed FF3>CSS I would just laugh, it sounds like you have anger managnment problems, and you take peoples opinions literally when you shouldnt. No where did I say it was a bad game, I just prefer CSS, I also like chrono trigger and other games too.

I cant understand how there can be fanboyism when it comes to a game, since I like most gendres of games, fps, rpg, adventure, etc.

If seeing CSS>WoW upsets you, I think you may need a vacation!

I am a verrrry busy man

Actually I do work 7 days a week, 5 at my job and the weekends helping others and doing chores and stuff for myself, sometimes its a burden being able to do so much

Because they don't play it for the gameplay. I imagine there's a select amount of people out there, that like the 'style' it has, in regards to a MMORPG, but the primary reason people are into WoW, is the social aspect, which is true for nearly any modern MMO, it's just that under this premise, WoW attracts them even more.

It's no longer about being able to interact within a fantasy, and do battle with guts/glory and etc.

It's just a regurgitated bi-product of 'social acceptance' and the internet.

The majority of WoW type players, (and I say this without trying to sound like I'm being a bully or using a lame internet diss), literally, have NO life. And not because they aren't employed with a high paying job, or because they don't have a PhD in physics, or etc.; but rather that they molded their life and lifestyle around the virtual social world, as it's more 'understanding' and 'forgiving' towards them than the real world(you can see the same thing on internet forums and all kinds of similar internet related places, where people act as if they have 'friends' and 'followers' etc. because they enjoy the non-discriminating adoration and adulation).

As per the explination above, WoW would be the culprit in far more cases than something like CSS. Though you are right, essentially any addiction is bad.

It's a very sad state of affairs. It's a shame I don't run a country, I'd ban the fu**ing game.
